We set out to replicate the egg test in a more formal way, looking to capture as much data as possible to understand how the material does what it does.
Test Parameters:
- Ambient temperature: 70ºF / 18ºC
- Estimated propane torch temperature: 3600ºF / 2000ºC
- Egg congealment temperature: 144ºF / 65ºC
- Burn time: 00:05:00
Since the contents of the egg remains raw after 5 minutes of direct contact with a high heat flux, it is possible to conclude that the material either stops or delays the heat transfer for the duration of the test.
